Why Second Hand Books Are Great Bargains

Purchasing second hand books are a wonderful way to create a personal library inexpensively, and as such are great bargains when compared to buying new literature. Every local community has book and second hand stores that carry these gems and best of all the prices on them can be ridiculously low – I have personally bought hundreds of second hand books in excellent condition for as little as 25 cents each!

It becomes difficult to understand why anyone would pay full price for a book when they can be accumulated so easily for a fraction of the new book price. Even when it comes to new releases you can save a ton of money by waiting six months or so to make the purchase a second hand book.

Acquiring second hand books can also become a wonderful cottage industry for those that possess a small bit of knowledge on published materials. More than one frugal literary fan has discovered a first edition printing of a well-known book at a flea market or yard sale and parlayed the purchase into a huge windfall, making hundreds or even thousands of dollars by reselling.
